Some Pictures of License Plates
Gee, Aren't They Cool-Lookin'?

I been doing a lot of talking about license plates on this site, now it's time to take a look at a few. Great to put up on the wall and use as a conversation piece or to simply liven up a room. Even Martha Stewart would probably like 'em. Simpl y click on the small plate for a bigger look.

1934 Arizona 1934 Arizona passenger, made of copper and the only license plate to bear a patent number.

1941 Illinois 1941 Illinois passenger, clicking on the picture will show you 1940, 1941, and 1942 Illinois plates.

1975 Illinois 1975 Illinois motorcycle, also pictured with a matching 1975 Chicago city motorcycle tax plate.

1913 Massachusetts 1913 Massachusetts truck, a rare porcelain plate which some damage to it.

1972/3 Mexico City, Mexico 1972/73 Mexico, D.F. passenger, from Mexico City.

1973 New Hampshire 1973 New Hampshire passenger, also has a 1974 date sticker.

1990's Rhode Island New Issue Rhode Island "Wave" passenger, the current plate design for the Ocean State.

1992 St. Maarten 1992 St. Maarten passenger, from the "Friendly Island" in the Netherlands Antilles of the Caribbean.

1973 Texas 1973 Texas passenger, notice the dash between letter and numbers is actually a Lone Star.

1968 Virginia 1968 Virginia cardboard temporary, issued in May of '68 for a Dodge.


All plates displayed on this page either are or have been part of my personal collection, except for the 1934 Arizona passenger plate. Photos are also mostly my doing with thanks also to Drew Steitz for the shot of the 1913 Massachusetts truck plate, John W.
