For the Sarthians there are two main ideologies, The Egg that is revered by all in one way or another, and the fierce loyalty that all Carnes show to The Pack.

The Egg

For other races there may be a question about which came first, the species or the egg. For the Sarthians, there is no doubt, The Egg came first. From The Egg hatched the entire Universe, and all that it contains. And so, Sarthians hold their own eggs in deep reverance.

The Temples of the Egg are places of deep spiritulism, the high priestess of which being called the Altamaia. The Temples serve a double role, not just that of being a spiritual place, but also serving as the nesting areas, hatching grounds, and nurseries for the communities that they serve. And the Altamaias have the final say in anything dealing with the hatchlings.

Even 'Teros worship The Egg. Not originally the same religion as what is worshipped by the terrestrial Sarthians, it developed on its own amongst the 'Teros. But the priests and priestess of both accept and welcome the others, even if there prayers and ways are different.

The Pack

The main unifying factor of the Carnes, and the only one other than might makes right, is the loyalty to The Pack. This is also one of the things that can make the Carnes so fearsome, for when they implicitly trust their packmates, then they can work together very well. The basic hierarchy of the Pack is indeed based upon might makes right, but loyalty to the Pack as a whole is usually put forward more so than personal gain. If one feels they can do a better job than the Carne over them, they are perfectly within their right to challenge them, one on one, claw to claw, to a duel, and being Carnes, it is usually to the death. Obviously, it's in the Pack leader's best interest to show no weakness, ever, but being a Carne, this is their typical demeanor anyways.
